It is the "Haarmannsbrunnen" from 1909, the oldest workers' memorial in Germany. When the old ramparts were built as a bulwark, the road from the main station to the Hasetor was prevented from breaking through. The memory of a mining accident in 1893 with 9 deaths is legend. During the Second World War, the miner was dismantled for smelting metal, but was not processed and by chance found in a metal processing plant in Brilon in 1949 and reinstalled.
