      The round mountain (711.2 m above sea level), on the eaves of the Swabian Alb, is named because of its oval shape. It towers about 250 m above the valley and is connected to the Alb plateau by a narrow saddle.

      There were several prehistoric and early historical hilltop settlements on the Round Mountain plateau. The oldest finds on Runden Berg are dated to the early to middle Bronze Age, around 1600 BC. Chr.

              The round mountain is an elevation above the Maisen valley of Bad Urach, which forms a unit together with the Hohenurach, the Urach waterfall and the slide rocks.
              The round mountain tends to lead a shadowy existence - this may also be due to the fact that you don't have a view of the valley from the clearing on the mountain, which is a bit of a shame.
              Advantage: since the mountain is not climbed as much, it is not as crowded as the Hohenurach or the waterfall.
