Albert Einstein lived here from 1903 to 1905 with his first wife Mileva Marić and their son Hans Albert. The house is now a museum that offers insights into Einstein's life and work.

In the museum, Einstein's former apartment is furnished in the style of the time. Visitors can explore the rooms and get an idea of how Einstein lived in Bern.

Einstein House:

Behind the sandstone façade on Kramgasse 49, in a small apartment on the second floor, there really was a revolution. Here, in 1905, Albert Einstein (1879-1955), at that time a civil servant at the Intellectual Property Office, developed his five most important works, created in Bern scientific work, including the special relativity and light quantum theory. Here quantum leaps occurred in modern physics!

In the modest apartment owned by the Albert Einstein Society since 1977, Einstein lived with his wife Mileva Maric and their son Hans Albert for two years. It has been restored to its original state so that one can immerse oneself in the life of the scholar couple, not least through contemporary furniture and objects. The exhibition in the
