The Trendelburg towers above the town of the same name and is well worth a break for a long break. In the well-preserved medieval castle is now a hotel and also a cozy restaurant. A special highlight is the keep. After the Brothers Grimm lived on the Trendelburg once the famous King's daughter Rapunzel and therefore the huge tower is now called Rapunzelturm. You can climb the castle tower and with good visibility you can even see Kassel in the distance.

A place made for the model railroad and a castle that rightly advertises the word. The entrance to the tower seems expensive, but the professional-loving restoration of the castle with many exhibits, the hidden rooms and the view probably convinces every visitor. Even a Rapunzelzopf attracts the sporty man.

Trendelburg Castle is located west of the Reinhardswald in the Hofgeismarer Rötsenke, which stretches between Vellmar in the south and Bad Karlshafen in the north. The at 172 m above sea level. There is the medieval center of the town of Trendelburg, which reaches up to the castle walls, with its Gothic town church and historic town hall.
