Mount Misen, the sacred mountain on the holy island, is also the highest peak on Miyajima at 535 meters. On clear days, it offers spectacular views of the Seto Inland Sea and up to Hiroshima City. The sea around the island and the island belong to the »Setonaikai National Park«.

There are three trails that lead to Mt. Misen ": the" Momijidani Route ", the" Daisho-in Route "and the" Omoto Route ". Of the three, the Daisho-in Route offers the best views and is not as steep as the other two. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit from the city.

Beautiful, historic place. Lies on the way between viewing platform and cable car station or footpath on the mountain or from the mountain.

What a view. Definitely recommended! Good fitness required from the mountain station. I wouldn't walk up the stairs from the bottom (harbor)! That's the path of death, just walking down is enough!
