The Tokyo Skytree (東京 ス カ イ ツ リ ー) is a television tower and symbol of Tokyo. It is the heart of Tokyo Skytree Town in the Sumida City Ward, not far from Asakusa. At a height of 634 meters, it is the tallest structure in Japan and the second tallest in the world at the time of its completion. At its base there is a large shopping complex with an aquarium.
The highlight of the Tokyo Skytree are its two viewing platforms, which offer spectacular views over Tokyo. The two enclosed decks are 350 and 450 meters high, respectively, making them the tallest viewing platforms in Japan and some of the tallest in the world.
The Tembo Deck, the lower of the two decks, is 350 meters high and extends over three levels, from which all floors offer great views. The top floor has tall, wide windows that offer one of the best 360-degree panoramic views of the city. On the middle floor there is a souvenir shop and the Musashi Sky Restaurant, which serves French-Japanese fusion cuisine, while on the bottom floor there is a café and some glass panes on the ground floor, from where you can look down to the base of the tower.
