This residential and commercial building, built according to a design by Antoni Gaudí, is one of the architectural highlights of the city.
Casa Batlló has been a listed building since 1962 and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005, along with other works by Gaudí. It is currently owned by the Bernat family, who initiated a comprehensive restoration in 1995. Some of the building can be visited - including the foyer, the bel étage, the stairwell, the attic, the roof and the backyard. With almost one million visitors a year, it is one of the ten most important sights in Barcelona.

Casa Batlló, built between 1904 and 1906 in the heart of the city, is the most symbolic work of the brilliant Catalan architect.
Gaudí gave Casa Batlló an original, fantastic and imaginative facade. He replaced the original facade with a new composition of stone and glass. He ordered a transformation of the outer walls to give them their undulating shape. These were then paved with lime mortar and covered with a mosaic of colorful glass fragments and ceramic tiles.
