    St. Oswald's is one of the most beautiful late Gothic churches in Tyrol. The wonderful tympanum relief along the main portal tells the story of the Miracle of the Host. The three-aisled interior offers several treasures, such as the 15th-century frescoes, the pulpit with bas-relief carvings from 1524, valuable shrine figures, a Gothic baptismal font, and the famous panel painting by Jörg Köderer from 1502.

      The parish and pilgrimage church of Seefeld in Tirol is in the center of the municipality of Seefeld in Tirol in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the federal state of Tirol. The patron saint hl. Oswald's subordinate Roman Catholic parish church belongs to the Telfs deanery in the Innsbruck diocese. The church and the former cemetery are under monument protection (list entry).

        The parish church in the center of Seefeld, which is dedicated to St. Oswald, was for a long time one of the most famous pilgrimage churches in Tyrol. The origin of this pilgrimage was the so-called “Host Miracle” of 1384. According to legend, Oswald Milser from the Schlossberg border fortress is said to have asked for a larger host (blessed wafer) at the Holy Mass than for the “common Leit”.

        Handed over willingly by the priest, the host turned blood red and the stone on which he knelt, as well as the heavy altar stone, sank suddenly into the ground. The imprint of the hand that desperately wanted to hold on to the stone slab of the church altar is still clearly visible there today.

        This miracle attracted large numbers of pilgrims. The Tyrolean princes were also very impressed. Since the small church was no longer sufficient, Frederick began building the current Gothic church with his empty pocket in 1432, which took a long time and was continued by Frederick's son, Sigismund the Rich in Coins. The church was not completed until 1474.
