Above the "amber room adventure mine" a pit was built in the old style. The first documented mention of this Fortuna shaft goes back to the year 1621. To protect the miners from wind and weather at the time, a superstructure - the so-called "Kaue" - was built over the mine shaft.

The Schachtkaue, which can be visited today and from which you can look into the illuminated Fortuna shaft, is worth a visit at any time of the year. In addition to a lovingly designed private museum, in which the history of Deutschkatharinenberg is told with unique exhibits and historical photo series, there is also a humpback mine made by Frank Beyer to admire.

During a visit to the "Amber Mine Adventure Room" there is also the option of arranging a visit to our pit on site.
