In March 1958 the construction of the Christ Church began next to the emergency church according to the plans of the architect Georg Reuther from Hailer. The laying of the foundation stone took place on Quasimodogeniti Sunday, April 13, 1958. On the 4th Advent, December 21, 1958, the church was consecrated by Probst Wibbeling from Langendiebach. Dean Maue (Gelnhausen) called on the Protestant parishes of the old Gelnhausen district to donate for the altar items of the new church.
The new church got bells as early as 1959. The ringing is tuned to the notes e, g, h, d. The old bell was cast by a Windeck master in 1777 and was once hanging in the turret of the old school building. It bears the inscription "Glory to God on high" and announces the services. The other bells were cast in the Rincker bell foundry in 1959. The Christ bell, labeled “Jesus Christ yesterday and today and the same also in eternity”, rings for the Our Father, the Lord's Supper and the blessing of newlyweds. The death bell bears the word “I live and you should live too”. The prayer bell rings for the time to ring; it is given the word “Watch and pray. The Lord is near ”. The entire bell could be heard for the first time at the service on the 4th Advent (December 20th) 1959.
In 1961 a parsonage, and finally in 1967 the parish hall, was put into operation. It was later named Johannes-Heermann-Heim after the long-time Neuenhaßlau headmaster and cantor, who had worked as an organist in Niedermittlau for decades. In 1961 the church also got an organ. The 12-register instrument was built by the Steinmeyer company in Oettingen, Bavaria.
