The estate, which was essentially built in the 15th and 16th centuries by the Nuremberg patrician families Waldstromer / Pfinzing / Tetzel, has, in addition to its architectural importance, a special status as the place where the space museum was founded. The museum was established here in 1971 and has since moved to the neighboring outbuildings. The Pfinzingschloss is a stop on the Drei-Schlösser Rundweg through Feucht.

The family of Waldstromer, who temporarily held the Reichs-Forstmeister, had already brought several moist goods in the 14th century.

The Pfinzing Castle was built by Ludwig Pfinzing around 1460 as a defense structure with a moat. After it burned down in 1552, the patrician family Georg Tetzel rebuilt it in its current form in 1562. In 1943, Professor Hermann Oberth, a well-known space pioneer, acquired the castle. In 1988 it was sold to the market town of Feucht, which had a renovation carried out immediately afterwards.
