Flensburg Harbor is located at the end of the Flensburg Fjord within the city of Flensburg. A distinction is made between the west side, the east side, and the harbor tip.

The harbor extends in the west from the harbor tip to the Baltic Sea resort. On the east bank, its extent was previously calculated as far as Kielseng. Since the withdrawal of the Bundeswehr, Sonwik and the neighboring boat harbor of the Mürwik Naval Academy have also been mentioned in this context. In addition, the buildings of Flensburg's city center, the Jürgensby development, and the Volkspark (public park) are located around the harbor, forming Flensburg's distinctive skyline.
