Along the beach between Zuydcoote and Bray-Dunes at low tide, some shipwrecks appear, which were destroyed during the Battle of Dunkerque in 1940. As a memorial, they remained on the beach.

The "Devonia" and the "Crested Eagle" were sunk by the German Army in May / June 1940, when the Allies evacuated in the operation Dynamo in over 300,000 Allied soldiers from the advancing German army.
The wrecks are easy to see at low tide and is also a memorial to the many victims of the Second World War.
Furthermore, here lies the wreck of the "Vonette" a wooden 3-masted schooner.
On her way from Lison to Gravelines, laden with salt, she came in a storm and toppled over.
This wreck has nothing to do with Operation Dynamo in May / June 1940.
