The Vloedgraaf is part of the Geleenbeek that flows into Susteren. The water board re-excavated this former long straight stream in 1992 to give it a more natural character. As a result, the stream now meanders more through the landscape.

The Vloedgraaf and the Rode Beek are two streams in Dutch Limburg that are part of the Geleenbeek watershed. The Vloedgraaf is a partially excavated stream that improves the drainage of agricultural areas and relieves the water from the Rode Beek and Geleenbeek streams. As An mentioned, it has been redesigned to look more natural, with positive results for the surrounding area, nature, and hikers/recreationalists. Wild boar can be found in the small nature reserve around the Vloedgraaf. The path is open to the public, but dogs must be kept on a leash. The walking path under the railway is also quite special, if you can manage it.
