The former main post office is a complex of four building parts: the Palais am Münsterplatz (1751-53), the former parcel post office on the corner of Bottlerplatz / Vivatsgasse (1906-08) and the corner building Münsterplatz / Vivatsgasse with the connecting building leading to the palace, including the inbox ( both 1937-39).

The three-storey Rococo mansard-roofed mansion has a projecting central risalit with a facade. In the gable field of the Risalit a relief of Wilhelm Albermann from Rhenish tuff stone is housed, which represents the services of the post and was created in 1876. The formerly neo-Romanesque, now four-storey rear extension of 1906-08 (former parcel post office) has lost its original appearance in part and today looks partially unadorned. The lateral additions to the Münsterplatz from 1937-39 consist of a previous three-axle connecting structure, which is preceded by a representative entrance portal as a gateway through the whole length, as well as a corner building.

The main post office (also Fürstenberg Palace, Fürstenberg Palace) in Bonn is a former city palace on Münsterplatz, which was built from 1751 to 1753. It was from 1877 to 2008 main post office (amt) of the city.
