At the end of the 10th century, Hedikhuizen was owned by Bishop Notger of the Principality of Liège. In 1282, the possessions in Hedikhuizen came to the Abbey of Berne, which also obtained the right of patronage. In 1598, the church dedicated to Saint Lambert was adjacent to the Reformed Church, who had used it ever since. The Catholic religion was initially banned, although Bokhoven functioned as a border church, but in 1683 a barn church was built and the faithful were served by the pastor of Vlijmen. In 1692, the Hedikhuizen parish had its own pastor again. A new water management church was built in 1846, and in the same year the Haarsteeg parish split off.
In 1944, during the liberation days, the towers of the church were blown up and for a while they had to use an emergency church again. A new Lambertus Church was completed in 1962. In 2003, the parish was merged with those of Herpt and Heusden to form the pastoral unit: The Bernse Maasparochies.

Protestant church in Hedikhuizen dates from 1140. It now functions as a residence.

Hedikhuizen, popularly called Hékèse, is one of the smallest centers in the municipality of Heusden in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It had about 200 inhabitants in 1972 and 230 inhabitants in 2019. Wikipedia
