    The bridge was rebuilt after the war, the memorial stone stands for the fallen. The wounded were treated on both sides during a truce at Mestrenger Mill and Kall Trail.

      On November 7, 2004, the memorial sculpture "A Time for Healing" by sculptor Michael Pohlmann was inaugurated on the Kall Bridge near the Mestrenger Mill amid great sympathy. It commemorates the unofficial ceasefire that the German medical officer Dr. Günther Stüttgen negotiated with the Americans in November 1944. It was used to rescue wounded on both sides and to exchange medicines. In September 2005, an information board explaining the background to this event was put up next to the sculpture.

        The picture "A Time for Healing" in the "Museum Hürtgenwald 1944 and in Peace" in Vossenack gives a very realistic depiction of the situation at that time. There is now a memorial sculpture on the Kall Bridge in memory of the humanitarian action of the German medical officer Dr. Stüttgen; further information can be found on the plaque.

            Information board about the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest. A truce has been decided several times at this bridge to care for the wounded and to recover the dead. German and American soldiers mingled to tend to wounded from both sides.
