The Rohrvenn has been a nature reserve since 1983. It also bears the nickname "The High Fens in miniature". The reason: on the 28 hectare nature reserve you will find vegetation similar to that in the High Fens - the well-known protected area on the Belgian-German border. The Rohrvenn is also the oldest nature reserve in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm. The approximately 28-hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1983, stretches south-east of the municipality of Roth near Prüm directly on the B 265, which runs past the eastern edge. The L 1 state road runs to the north and the L 20 to the south.

The purpose of the protection is the preservation of a wet heath typical of the Schneifel with its rare flora and fauna worthy of protection. Wikipedia
