The Scheldemeersen on the left bank are a series of small plots bordered with pollard willows. It is the typical small-scale landscape of the last 200 years with moist lakes and cut-off meanders due to the straightening of the Scheldt. The area is home to many biotopes on a small surface area compared to the right bank. Each sub-area has its own story.
