The difference in height between the street on the Zschopau and the castle is decent. This is clearly noticeable in the legs when the 1001 (I have not counted) steps have been overcome.

260 steps and 43 meters in altitude; The annual castle staircase run is organized and hosted by the DLRG Middle Saxony - Sachsenburg 1990 e.V. In advance, the members of the association always carry out work to beautify the environment. The cleaning of the castle stairs and the decoration of these are part of this work as well as the reclamation of the old overgrown floor slab, which is decorated with flowers and equipped with seating, which gives a nice place outside the construction site around Sachsenburg Castle.
