The richly decorated and stuccoed choir dates from the 18th century. In the vault there are architectural paintings of high artistic value. G. Petrini (1667-1759) from Carona painted the rosary picture of the Madonna with Saint Dominic and Catherine, which was painted light and dark.
The restoration work completed in 1998 (Arch. Gianfranco Rossi) made it possible to bring out a fresco from the 15th century depicting St. Anthony the Abbot.
A new altar made of Peccia marble and five stained glass windows, works by Fra Roberto Pasotti from the Bigorio Monastery, were also installed. The two old sundials on the facades facing south-east and south-west have also been restored.
To the side of the church the ossuary from 1720 with frescoes on the outside by Bartolomeo Rusca, while the picture of the Pieta inside is by G. Petrini. The wrought iron lattice was created by a local craftsman in the 18th century. The 14 Stations of the Cross from the 17th century are painted in oil on copper panels. The church was restored in 1960 by the painter Emilio Ferrazzini from Lugano.
