      From Col de Balme, 2,191 m, you have a great view of the Mont Blanc massif. Here is a Refuge du Col de Balme. Many hiking trails start from here, e.g. to the Tete de Balme, Alquillette des Posettes or the Refuge Albert 1er.

          Col de Balme is an absolute must on the Tour du Mont Blanc! 🏔️ The hike up to the pass is challenging but totally worth it for the breathtaking vistas. Once you reach the top, you're rewarded with jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Mont Blanc massif and the surrounding valleys. It's like stepping into a postcard! 📸😍

          The journey to Col de Balme is a treat in itself. The trail takes you through lush alpine meadows, quaint villages, and rugged terrain, making the hike diverse and exciting. Along the way, I met fellow hikers from all over the world, creating a friendly and social atmosphere.

            For the ascent from the Valais from Trento there are 3 completely different hiking trails to the Col de Balme. The middle path is the shortest but also the one with the smallest view, as it is surrounded by mountain flanks on the left and right in the upper part.

              Magnificent pass which offers beautiful views of the Chamonix valley, the Mont Blanc massif and the Aiguillettes des Posettes. The trails leading there are fairly accessible, although they can still be snowy at the start of the season. It marks the border between France and Switzerland, and a refuge is installed there. It is not recommended to bivouac at the pass, because of the strong wind that can blow there, but many sheltered corners can be unearthed below.
