Country estate Nieuw-Amelisweerd is located on the Amelisweerd estate. A little further away is the Oud-Amelisweerd country house. The history of Nieuw-Amelisweerd goes back to the 13th century. The country house was severely damaged in the 17th century. A few years later, the original house was demolished and the current country house was built, where you will see many 18th and 19th century elements in the architectural style.

This giant sequoia, sequoiadedron giganteum, can be found on the Amelisweerd and Rhijnauwen estates in Bunnik.

The tree first lost its highest top. After the measurement at the end of 2003, the new top also dried out.

The indicated height of 2009 concerns a dead top. The living branches reach up to 34.5 m. In 2010, the tree was 38.4 meters high.
