The Hunnenburg is not an old fortress, even if the name sounds a lot like it. It is only a small path that many guests of the city often do not even notice on their way through Elbstrasse or past the Old Market. In doing so, visitors miss a lot. The houses on the Hunnenburg were carefully and lovingly restored.
The facades are great photo opportunities and in spring and summer you can spot hollyhocks in all colors. But the most beautiful are the gardens, which extend over several levels on the slope and offer a magnificent view of the Elbe and the old town from above.

At Schmidt's house in the Hunnenburg in Lauenburg, an air raid shelter has evidently outlived the years ...
There is a historical sign on the door with the following text:
The instructions of the block attendant must be followed!
It's good that those times are finally over - hopefully.

A picturesque place - and you should also get down and explore the alleys, it's worth it. Whereby the cobblestones make getting off the bike easier ;-)
