Strong walls protect the houses on the Elbe side like bulwarks. A narrow path remains, the "Elbpromenade".
In the summer months, the museum steamer “Kaiser Wilhelm” is located on the “Elbpromenade”. During the season, it is put under steam every other weekend by its volunteer crew.
The “Elbuferweg” leads from the lower town to the heated swimming pool in Kuhgrund and to the youth hostel.
This is followed by the "Elbwanderweg", which takes the tough hikers ten kilometers along the rustic, wooded slope of the Elbe to Geesthacht. A diverse flora is at home here.
