The first written mention was in 1007 in connection with the founding of the diocese of Bamberg. On November 1, 1007, Emperor Henry II gave the new bishopric of Vorchheim (Forchheim) in the Radenzgau region, with all the accessories in the vicinity, and all the servants of Forchheim, such as "Truobaha" (Trubach) and "Tuoisbrunno" (Thuisbrunn). Before there is only scanty news from the time of Charlemagne (786-814). In 794 the names of the places "Trobach" and "Herzwin" (Herzogwind) appeared for the first time. Obertrubach thus has a history of over a thousand years.
