In late summer the path is heavily overgrown. Grasses, nettles, reeds and blackberries have to be overcome. In order to enjoy the jungle feeling, sturdy shoes and long trouser legs are an advantage.

The Mahlower Seegraben begins in Waldblick, an inhabited part of the municipality Blankenfelde-Mahlow and thus north of the federal motorway 10, which runs in this area west-east. To the south of Birkholz, a residential area in the Großbeeren community, it crosses under the motorway in a southerly direction. It now runs in an arch, first in a westerly and then in a southerly direction in the nature reserve Diedersdorfer Heide and Großbeerener Graben and thus northeast of Kleinbeeren, a district of Großbeeren. It crosses under the Potsdam – Schönefeld expressway and meets the Berlin outer ring. From here it runs in a westerly direction and joins the Großbeerener Graben after another 1.3 km south of Großbeeren.
