Saint Anne is the mother of Mary, the mother of God, who is not attested in the biblical texts, i.e. the grandmother of Jesus Christ. However, it is mentioned in apocryphal (that is, not included in the canon of the Bible) writings, for example in the so-called "Protoevangelium of James". There is no historically reliable knowledge about Anna's life, but there are numerous traditional stories that are summarized, for example, in the medieval "Legenda Aurea" by the Dominican monk Jacobus de Voragine. Among other things, she is the patroness of the Anna Church in Düren (North Rhine-Westphalia), where a piece of her skull is kept as a relic.
In the church calendar, the day of remembrance of St. Anne - together with her husband Joachim - is on July 26th.

On the south side of this monument there is a bench from which you have a wonderful view of the mountains.
The previous chapel was demolished in 1803 during the secularization, but was rebuilt in 1826. The Pieta inside comes from the previous chapel.

Quiet and contemplative and a little unnoticed, she stands on this beautiful piece of earth. It was built in 1826 after the chapel that had previously stood there was demolished in 1803.
