At the top of the Kaleberg is a shelter where you can sit and rest under cover while you have a view of speeding MTBers and the landscape at the bottom of the mountain. You will also find an information panel here.

Kale Berg Info:
The Kale Berg, also called Kalenberg, is part of a moraine and is approximately 46 metres high. Together with the adjacent Lochemseberg, the Kale Berg is part of a 171-hectare nature reserve. The area is partly managed by the Geldersch Landschap Foundation and partly by the Woodbrookers.

On the northern flank of the Kale Berg is the Witte Wievenkoele, a place where, according to old stories, one can encounter white women at night. From the beginning of the 20th century, there was a dome on the top of the Kale Berg, the so-called Schuilkoepeltje. Hikers could use it to rest and enjoy the view. This dome, managed by the Woodbrookers, was demolished at the beginning of the 1970s. In the meantime, a new hexagonal dome of untreated larch wood has been built in the thinned pine forest on the hill.
