The NSW chronicle (2001) includes a drawing in the section on lime and gypsum extraction, showing the lime kilns and a wooden bridge spanning the road for the mine carts. The small quarry opposite belonged to the company. Remnants of walls can also be found on the quarry slope. The operation produced only quicklime in a shaft kiln.

The chronicle is in the possession of my relatives.

The South Harz Nature Park is located in the Nordhausen district in northern Thuringia.

The ordinance establishing the nature park in the Harz Mountains came into effect on December 31, 2010, thus creating the fifth nature park in Thuringia.

It covers an area of 267 km².

The South Harz Tourism Association (Südharzer Tourismusverband e. V.) manages the park in coordination with the Kyffhäuser Nature Park.

The nature park encompasses parts of the southern slopes of the Lower Harz Mountains, the gypsum karst landscape of the adjacent Zechstein belt, and the transition zone to the North Thuringian Bunter Sandstone region.

To the south, the park is bordered by the Helme Valley, and on the other sides by the Thuringian state border.

Its western border forms part of the Green Belt of Germany.

It borders the South Harz Karst Landscape Biosphere Reserve (Saxony-Anhalt) to the east, the Harz/Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park to the north, and the Harz Nature Park (Lower Saxony) to the northwest.

The entire Harz region is a large protected area, which also includes the Harz National Park.
