Oddly enough, this cultural site is also popularly known as the “Blood Bowl Chapel”. It may be that the structure encases sacred stone that was already used (perhaps for sacrifices) in pre-Christian times. Only in later tradition is the chapel stone spoken of. She is associated with Saint Wolfgang because she is said to have rested on the stone and taken off his hat. This created the peculiar indentations that can still be seen on the surface of the block of stone.
