The town hall was built in 1565, but it burned down next to many residential and farm buildings in the chaos of the 30 Years War (1618-1648) in 1637.
At that time, the buildings were still thatched, so fires could develop in a very short time.
In the same year it was rebuilt in the same place. The cellar vault and the central building are among the oldest parts of the building.
