The Protestant church designed by the famous architect Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray in 1824 and dedicated to Reformation Day [1826]. She has a beautiful organ and it is worth taking a look inside.

The Protestant town church has been a striking attraction within the historic town of Rastenberg since the year it was built.

As the largest building in the city, it shapes the town's silhouette from all directions.

The classicist church building by the Grand Ducal Chief Building Director Clemens Wenzeslaus Coudray from 1826 was built as a memorial for the sovereign Karl August of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach.

The Church of Our Lady, also called Coudray Church after its builder.

The parcel names Kapellenberg, Mönchsacker and Mönchsborn refer to former churches in the area around Rastenberg. There was a castle chapel on the Raspenburg. The Kilian's Church at the cemetery was used until 1537. The monastery church of St. Mary is said to have stood near the current church. After the Reformation, St. Mary's Church became the town church, which burned down in 1636 during the Thirty Years War. In 1657 a successor building was built, which in 1824 fell victim to a city fire.
