This northern tip of the freshwater reservoir Loch Treig is often passed en route to the Easains of Stob a' Choire Mheadhoin and Stob Coire Easain. The West Highland railway line runs along the eastern shore of the loch on its way between Currour and Tulloch stations, two of the most remote in Britain. The dam at this end forms part of the Lochaber hydro-electric scheme.
