The Topplerschlösschen is a tower-like, medieval residential building in which the mayor of Rothenburg, Toppler, once lived. The castle has been completely preserved and is now privately owned.
A tour of the building is possible on request. Admission costs 1.50 euros. More information on how to contact the owners is available from the Rothenburg tourist information office.

The Topplerschlösschen was the retreat of the great Rothenburg mayor Heinrich Toppler, who directed the fortunes of Rothenburg at the end of the 14th century. Due to his excellent relationships in the highest circles of imperial politics, he was able to achieve great advantages for Rothenburg. He had a particularly close relationship with the Roman-German King Wenzel, whom he is said to have lodged here several times in the Topplerschlösschen.
