A large farm once stood here. Everything thrived on this farm so well that the townsfolk called it the Honighof. But the farmer and his sons were haughty and stingy. When lightning struck the courtyard, they all died in the fire.

Her death is attributed to Frau Holle, who lives in the Hoher Meißner and, according to several legends, did a lot of good for the Wickenröder. She showed them the rich lignite deposits or healed the enchanted daughter of a glassmaker. But Frau Holle could also impose severe penalties. Only the good-natured daughter survived the fire at the honey farm.

In addition to this legend of the Honighof, the barbecue area, which can be rented, is a weatherproof and mostly wind-protected facility that is ideal for a rest. From here you can look down on Wickenrode.
