The theater on Sint-Baafsplein is home to NTGent, a European city theater, anchored in Ghent. Each season, with its permanent ensemble of Flemish and Dutch top actors, it creates its own theater productions and plays them far beyond its language area.

Just like Apollo and his muses, you can enjoy the beautiful square on the attractive terrace of the foyer. Everyone is welcome in the NTGent Café for a pint or coffee and free use of the internet.

The Nederlands Toneel Gent (NTGent or NTG) is a city theater founded in Ghent in 1965. As an international city company, it performs productions in the Koninklijke Nederlandse Schouwburg. In addition to the performances in the theater at Sint-Baafsplein, in Arca and in Minnemeers, there are partnerships with Vooruit and Minard.
From March, the artistic direction of NTGent will be in the hands of Swiss director, sociologist and theater maker Milo Rau. Stefan Bläske, his regular dramaturge, acts as right-hand man and Steven Heene is responsible for the daily artistic work. Nathalie de Boelpaep has been in charge of business management since 2018.
Until June 2018 NTGent worked with a permanent actor ensemble, including Elsie de Brauw, Wim Opbrouck, Els Dottermans, Steven Van Watermeulen, Frank Focketyn, Bert Luppes, An Miller, Chris Thys, Oscar Van Rompay, Lien Wildemeersch, Benny Claessens and Risto Kübar are / were part of.
