The first building was partly made of wood and had to be completely renovated as early as 1746, with the wooden construction being replaced by a new building in stone. The castle had two floors and mansards in the attic, long side wings were attached to the corps de logis. The seven-storey tower (51 m high) north of the Corps de Logis originally stood alone and was only connected to the main building by open wooden galleries.
