Excavations show that the previous buildings of today's church in Amlingstadt go back to the Carolingian era around 800 AD. During this time, the missionary work of the Slavs who lived in Regnitz and Main took place. The late Gothic church was built between 1420 and 1442. After it was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt and redesigned in a baroque style after 1644.
