The Friedensweg along the Thuringian-Bavarian border extends from the former border crossing point Henneberg (Golden Bridge) to Birx in the Hohe Rhön.
The hiking trail leads along the former border to the Dachsberg near Hermannsfeld with the World Peace Cross and a border tower of the former border system.
The hiking trail leads along the former border and works through German-German history from 1945-1990.
The Friedenweg leads mostly through the biosphere reserve of the Rhön and thus gives the hiker an insight into a still intact nature.
The 40km trail is marked with the blue F-signs.
The hiking trail leads along the former border to the Dachsberg with the World Peace Cross and a border tower of the former border system.
On October 3, 1991, the Peace Cross was inaugurated.
The first lines of Gotthilf Fischer's peace song are carved into the cross, which symbolizes peace and reconciliation.
