        The Malscher Landgraben, which flows so peacefully along the western edge of Bulach and then flows into the Alb beyond the southern bypass, has a long and eventful past. But in contrast to its “northern brother”, the Landgraben, built in 1588, which is supposed to drain the area around Schloss Gottesaue to the west into the Alb, it has not been built over.
        In the Spanish War of Succession, the so-called Ettlinger Line was created from 1707, which is used to

With the help of the water from the Malscher Landgraben, the area around this line of defense could be flooded if necessary. The elevations for the wall and the depressions for the moat can still be seen today in the wooded area south of Scheibenhardt Castle.

            The bridge over the Malscher Landgraben was renovated in 1989. The stone tablet that announces this was itself recently renovated and looks new again.
