The Campanile di Val Montanaia is one of the symbolic peaks of the Friulian Dolomites Park. Surrounded by the peaks of the Monfalconi - Spalti di Toro group. This spire is located in the center of the valley.

The Campanile di Val Montanaia is undoubtedly the symbolic peak of the Friulian Dolomites Park. This daring tower, one of a kind, stands in a wonderful dolomitic basin in the upper Val Montanaia, surrounded by the setting of the peaks of the Monfalconi - Spalti di Toro group. This spire, almost 300 meters high and with a base of 60, stands out in the center of the valley, clearly separated from the surrounding amphitheater. It is the result of alpine erosion, in particular that carried out by the large glaciers that covered the area. Also known as "the stone cry", it was climbed for the first time on 17 September 1902 by the Austrian mountaineers Wolf von Glanvell and Karl von Saar, mocking the Trieste-based duo Cozzi - Zanutti who had already passed the key passage of the V ° shot.

On the summit, at 2,173 m, there was a bronze bell bearing the motto “Audentis resonant per me loca muta triumpho”. The first was carried to the summit on 19 September 1926 by 22 mountaineers from the Veneto. Following the damage, in 1982, it was replaced with a perfectly identical copy; today the original is kept at the headquarters of the CAI Section of Pordenone. In July 2020, yet another replacement, after the bell was struck by lightning in September 2019.
