        The Breskens lighthouse from 1868 is the oldest existing cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands and one of the most iconic buildings in West Zeeland Flanders. This octagonal, black and white painted tower was built in 1866-1867 according to a design by the Dutch architect Quirinus Harder.

        Nieuw Sluis Lighthouse is located on the sea wall at the entrance to the Western Scheldt, has a height of 28.4 meters and has five floors. It is part of a series of lights that mark the end of the Scheldt and guide shipping traffic between the North Sea and Antwerp.
        In 2011 the lighthouse was decommissioned and demolition threatened. Thanks to the efforts of the Breskens Lighthouse Foundation, the national monument was completely renovated in 2015 and opened to visitors.

        The entrance fee is €2.00 per person. Children aged 5 to 12 are admitted under supervision for €1.00. Given the small space and the steep stairs, the lighthouse is not suitable for children under 5 years old and no more than 15 people are allowed at a time.

        The lighthouse is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. until October. Info: vuurtorenbreskens.nl

                    The Lighthouse Nieuwe Sluis, is a listed lighthouse near the peasantry Nieuwesluis in the municipality Sluis, about three kilometers west of Breskens in the Dutch province of Zeeland.
                    The octagonal tower has a height of 28.4 meters and has five floors. The lighthouse is painted black and white and is located on the seawall at the entrance to the Westerschelde.
                    The tower was designed by the architect Quirinus Harder and built between 1866 and 1867. It is one of the oldest surviving cast-iron lighthouses in the Netherlands. During the Second World War, the lighthouse was out of order for some time. On October 3, 2011, the operation was finally discontinued.

                                      This is a beautiful place: the lighthouse is amazing and definitely worth a visit. Have been at this place several times. By the way, not only this spot is wonderful to see, but I would recommend you to visit Cadzand Bad as well. This city is booming at the moment and especially loved by German tourists. After visiting this place, we decided to buy a holiday home ( ferienwohnungcadzand.de ) here and since then visiting the place every now and then.
