Wolf beeches
The last two wolves in the former Saarburg district were shot on the two beech trees between 1880 and 1886. Bonuses were paid for shooting. As a reminder of this important event for the population at the time, the two beech trees, which were more than 100 years old at the time, have not been felled to this day.
