The Little Mermaid of the Lake, in Genval!
Last Sunday June 30 (2019), it was the inauguration of the Little Mermaid of Lake Genval. A Little Mermaid, like the one in Copenhagen, but smaller. The small bronze statue sits on a rock in the waters of Lac de Genval, in front of the Château du Lac. It is the work of Michal, whose real name is Michel Alexandre Neuwels, sculptor from Plancenoit (Lasne).

Lake Genval (French: Lac de Genval) is located on the edge of the Sonian Forest, southeast of Brussels. The lake is partly located in Genval, a borough of Rixensart in the province of Walloon Brabant and partly in Overijse in the province of Flemish Brabant. It is an artificial lake that was created in 1903 by creating artificial banks around a swampy area.[1] Around the lake are some buildings from the Belle époque, including the five-star hotel Château du Lac. The area around the lake is very touristy and houses, among other things, a yacht club.
