The source of Göljån is buried under a thick layer of snow in winter. Only sometimes the river can be guessed under the snow and ice cover (here special care is required when crossing). The river is known throughout Sweden, as it swelled in 1997 after 24 hours of heavy rainfall to 500 times its size and tore the resulting six-meter tidal wave on the way to the valley everything, so even today the track of dead wood in the Forest is recognizable.
