The pass height of Grosse Scheidegg is at 1,962 meters. The pass connects Grindelwald with Meiringen. On the pass you can enjoy a magnificent view down into the valley and the surrounding mountains Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn and Eiger.

Here are many hikers and cyclists to be found. At the top of the pass there is a restaurant.
The use of the toilet costs 1.- CHF per person. Down to Grindelwald you need about 2 hours on foot, either along the road on which also the Postbus drives, or on trails that cross the road again and again.

You can get from Grindelwald to Meiringen via the Große Scheidegg pass.
However, this is only possible on foot, by bike or bus - not with your own car.
The mountain hotel Große Scheidegg with a restaurant is located at the top of the pass at 1962 m above sea level.
When the weather is clear, you have a fantastic view from here.
This is also a good starting point for further hikes in the surrounding area.
The Grindelwald bus stop is at the top of the pass.
