St. Josef was completely destroyed in the "All Souls Battle" in 1944 and rebuilt in 1952/53.
In 2011, the renovation of the church began. At the same time, the facade was also clad with slate. The renovation work was completed in 2014. This church in Vossenack is dedicated to Saint Joseph (Joseph), the foster father of Jesus Christ. Like Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, he is a man on the threshold between the Old and the New Testament. Joseph was from the house of David, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. He was a carpenter by trade and the fiancé of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The commemoration day of Saint Joseph in the calendar of saints is on March 19th, and on May 1st the church celebrates the feast of “Joseph the Worker”.

"... The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Josef is located in the Vossenack district of the Hürtgenwald community.
The first mention of a chapel in Vossenack dates back to 1719, when it was rectorate under the mother parish of Simmerath. In 1804 the parish became a parish in the canton of Monschau, in 1827 it came to the dean's office in Monschau, in 1952 to the dean's office in Simmerath and in 1973 to the dean's office in Kreuzau. Today it forms the community of the parishes of Kreuzau / Hürtgenwald (Diocese of Aachen) with 11 neighboring parishes.
On June 15, 1869, the foundation stone for a neo-Gothic building was laid. The foundation stone consisted of a stone from the old chapel. The church tower fell victim to a fire in 1870 and was renewed in 1892/93. It was destroyed in the battles in the Hürtgenwald and in a simplified form in 1952/53 according to plans by the architectural office “A. & W. Dickmann ”rebuilt.
The church is a single-nave structure with a base area of 18.85 × 8.80 meters, made of rubble stones. In 1941 the Weimbs Orgelbau company installed an organ with two manuals.
From 2011 to 2014 the church was renovated for 250,000 euros. ... "
