The Kristiansten Festning (Kristiansten Fortress) stands on a hill outside Trondheim city center. It was intended to protect the city from attacks and was equipped with several cannons.

The most striking feature of the fortress is the white keep, a four-story tower with embrasures.

It was designed to protect the city from attacks and was equipped with several cannons.
There is no admission charge.
It was built after the Trondheim city fire in 1681 and was completed in 1685.

From up here you have a great view of the city. If you want to go even higher, you can climb the tower for free. The floors are pretty cute but you have a kind of museum here.
