The Oberseemoor is a moorland former channel lake with limestone mud underneath, which lies in the meltwater channel that drains from the Liepnitzsee via the Hellsee into the Finowtal. It lies in the part of the meltwater channel that connects the Liepnitzsee with the Obersee.
